As I sit down to reflect on the 2022 season and the things we do well, the first thing that comes to mind is that none of it would be possible without the countless volunteers the Club relies on.  I am sure that if you are reading this, you are probably none of them and for this I want to thank you personally.  As a Club, we always make decisions with your child’s best interest in mind and to further soccer development in Georgetown and Acton.

I had the opportunity to attend the indoor final days back in March and witnessed some excellent soccer with all games being decided by two goals or less.  The indoor program has become an integral part of what we do.  Thanks to Mike and Sue for the efforts in making this program so successful.

Our House League program from U12 to U18 continued to be merged with Acton and proved once again that this affiliation was beneficial to both parties.  Thank you to Dave and Gwen from the Acton Soccer Club for having an open mind and working with us again this past year to make sure that everything ran smoothly.

Our Rep program continues to flourish and many team had successes.

The 3rd Annual Eustace Collins Memorial Rep/Select Tournament was another success story and from the proceeds we donated $1,000 to Chance to Play.  Thank you to Gary and his team for their dedication and passion that allowed us again to give back to good cause within our community.

As we get ready for an “influx” of new residents, the Georgetown Soccer Club will continue to evolve and grow as an organization.  For that reason, our Board took on the task of creating the Georgetown Soccer Club Values in order to become more successful and provide better services and programs.  Our Core Values can be seen on our website under the Club Info section.  We also renewed our Club Excellence designation and were awarded Gold status.  I want to thank Alice Strachan for the countless hours she put into gathering all the information that is necessary to achieve this recognition.

Our technical staff grew with the addition of fulltime keeper coaches.  The mentor program continues to evolve and respond to House League and Rep coaches’ needs.  The addition of OPT in the fall responded to another need that was identified by a mentor coach.  Thank you to Rick and his staff for continuing to make the Georgetown Soccer Club better and for working well as a team.

But none of this would be possible without our Board of Directors.  The countless hours Board Members put in to make sure Opening Day, Closing Day, Rep Pre-Season Camp, House League, Indoor House League and Rep programs run smoothly shows the dedication of our membership.  I would like to thank all Board Members for their commitment to making the Georgetown Soccer Club a better organization.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on the pitch!
