Coaching Qualifications
Applications to coach a Development team with the Georgetown Soccer Club are due no later than July 15 of each year for the following season (ie, apply by July 15, 2018, for coaching in 2019). And applications to coach a Rep team with the Georgetown Soccer Club are due no later than August 15 of each year for the following season. The application can be found here.In order to apply tocoach one of our Rep or Development teams, coaches need to have taken the following mandatory courses:DevelopmentGame Leader (U8 only) Making HeadwayMaking Ethical DecisionsRespect in Sport *Active Start (U4-U5)*Fundamentals (U6-U8)*Learn to Train (U9-U12)RepMaking HeadwayMaking Ethical DecisionsRespect in Sport*Soccer For Life (U13+) *Making Headway, Making Ethical Decisions and Respect in Sport are mandatory courses that all coaches need to have taken. Coaches are only required to have taken the age-specific course that corresponds to the age group they are coaching. In addition to these courses, the Georgetown Soccer Club requires that all of our coaches have a valid (completed within the past 3 years) police records check with a vulnerable sector screening on file. From time to time there may be courses added to this curriculum as determined by Ontario Soccer or our district, Peel Halton.
