Coaching Qualifications

Applications to coach a Rep or Development team with the Georgetown Soccer Club are due no later than August 15 of each year for the following season (ie, apply by August 15, 2017, for coaching in 2018).  The application can be found here.
In order to apply to coach one of our Rep or Development teams, coaches need to have taken the following mandatory courses:

Making Headway
Making Ethical Decisions
Respect in Sport
*Active Start (U4-U5)
*Fundamentals (U6-U8)
*Learn to Train (U9-U12)

Making Ethical Decisions
Respect in Sport
*Soccer For Life (U13+)
*Making Headway, Making Ethical Decisions and Respect in Sport are mandatory courses that all coaches need to have taken.  Coaches are only required to have taken the age-specific course that corresponds to the age group they are coaching.
In addition to these courses, the Georgetown Soccer Club requires that all of our coaches have a valid (completed within the past 3 years) police records check with a vulnerable sector screening on file.
From time to time there may be courses added to this curriculum as determined by Ontario Soccer or our district, Peel Halton.
More information about these courses and to find out where you might be able to take them, please visit the Ontario Soccer website.
